Got my results through the other day and I didn’t do too badly. Managed to pass each module which means I’ll be starting the second year in September.

My examination results weren’t the best but I think that was to do with the fact I knew I only needed 40%, the first year results don’t count to the overall degree and I had lots to do but I know my coursework made up for it.

The other day I ordered a 50mW laser pen from Ebay which was quite possibly the best purchase I’ll ever make in my life. The standard lasers (cheap red ones) are between 3mW and 8mW so you can guess the power this one has.

You can easily see a lightsabre like beam firing into the sky which looks amazing as well as being able to reach for more than 20 miles.

One of the main reasons I bought it was to be able to try some laser tagging when I get back to Uni. Hopefully I’ll be able to source a powerful enough projector to use and project onto something like the soon to be demolished (I think) Civic Centre.

I’ve also been using it to get some nice late night, long exposure photos as well as using the 12 million candle power torch. I’ll put the photos up on Flickr soon.
